                       Pharmacology Retreat - 2007

      The Department of Pharmacology, all its students, faculty, and staff held a retreat at Prince William Forest Park near Triangle, Virginia on Friday, May 11, 2007.  Click for DIRECTIONS.  The purpose of the retreat was multifold and included introducing each lab and the current projects in the lab, having a poster session in which students and faculty shared their latest results and discussed collaborations, and enjoying the outdoors with the greatest food in the world prepared by Master Chef, Dr. Jarda Wroblewski.  The agenda for the day was:

7:30 - 9:00      Breakfast
9:00 – 10:30    Session I: Introductory Presentations (10 min intro 5 min questions) Dretchen, Ahern Gale, Gillis, Huntsman, &, Kellar.
1030 - 11:00    Break
11:00 – 12:30 Session II:  Morad, Pak, Suzuki, Wolfe, Wroblewski, &, Xu
12:30 – 3:00 Lunch and Poster discussion (posters will be available for viewing throughout the day)
3:00 – 4:00   Graduate Education Discussion – Ahern
4:00 – 5:00 Research Discussion Session – “How to increase research productivity?”  - Xu
5:30 – 6:00 Break
6:00 – 8:00 Reception and Dinner
9:00 -?   Campfire and camaraderie

Several people came on Thursday night and we had a fun time helping Jarda cook and sharing a beer.
