Sponsored Accounting Policies

The following policies, posted at the Sponsored Accounting Office's website, govern the conduct of externally funded research:

  • Cost Sharing - the use of University funds toward the conduct of an externally funded project.

  • Cost Transfer Policy - the transfer of expenditures among externally funded projects or between University cost centers and the externally funded project.

  • Effort Reporting - the tracking of the amount of effort that the Principal Investigator and other key personnel devote to an externally funded project.

  • Participant Costs - non-employee related expenditures such as transportation, stipends, per diem, and other costs applicable to participants, i.e., trainees.
