How is a cost center established for the grant I receive?
  • A cost center is not established until the receipt of formal, written confirmation of a grant made to any program/project.
  • Determination of the appropriate cost center designation is made by OSP and OAUR’s CFR office at the time of the award based on any conditions that may be presented in the award letter.
  • All government grants receive a cost center designation of RX.
  • Philanthropic grants may receive a cost center designation of RX, RT or other.
  • A statement of conditions for acceptance accompanies most grants from the grant making entity.
