Wire payments are accepted but not recommended. Georgetown University often receives incomplete information when a wire is sent because banks do not accurately relay some critical pieces of information needed by our office. The results are delays and inaccuracies in the posting of these payments to student accounts.

If you pay by wire:

  1. Ensure that your name and GOCard number are included in the instructions sent to your bank
  2. Ensure your payment is made in USD to avoid exchange rate discrepancies.
  3. Fax a copy of your wire confirmation to our office
  4. Monitor your student bill on the Student Account Services site (accesible through MyAccess) to ensure the wire was posted to your account properly. If you do not see it posted within 10 days, please call our office.
