Developed and validating a
radiation induced cytogenetic method and p53 expression assay for assessing
breast cancer risk.

Carried out extensive genotyping &
VNTR polymorphism studies for various projects.

Experienced in writing for
externally funded grants with ‘excellent’ rating.

Worked with clinical samples of
fertility patients for clinical karyotyping and identified some rare
translocations.

rearrangements using conventional methods as well as modern software. Provided

Research expertise:

Cytogenetic:
Cell culture
techniques related to chromosomal preparations and conventional banding (GTG,
CBG, AgNOR). Experienced in human karyotyping, diagnostic conventional
cytogenetics and pedigree analyses. Good experience in mutagen sensitivity
assays using chromosomal damage as end point.

Cell culture techniques:
Well experienced in lymphocyte cultures and solid tissue culture, (short- and
long- term) and handling primary cultures and cell lines.

Molecular biology techniques:
Experienced in molecular biology techniques related to genotyping using PCR
and gel electrophoresis. Familiar with DNA sequencing and microsatellite
analysis using ABI 377; p53 Western analyses, Cloning & expression, Northern and
Southern analyses
