![]() Welcome to my website. I am an associate professor in the Edmund A. Walsh School of Foreign Service and the Department of Government at Georgetown University. I am currently the chair of the School of Foreign Service Faculty as well as a core faculty member in Georgetown's Security Studies Program and Center for Peace and Security Studies. I received my Ph.D. and M.A. from the University of Chicago's Department of Political Science and my B.A. from Colgate University. Prior to coming to Georgetown, I was a research fellow at Harvard University's Belfer Center for Science and International Affairs and Stanford University's Center for International Security and Cooperation. Here is my curriculum vitae. My recently published book is entitled Occupational Hazards: Success and Failure in Military Occupation.
